Forums

IGAP Workers: This restricted forum is dedicated to the Kuskokwim's Environmental Coordinators. This is a place to share success stories, ideas, challenges, as well as help each other in the not easy task of managing environmental issues in rural remote Alaska.

Mining in the Kuskokwim: This open forum is intended to serve as a place where people can request specific information regarding the current and potential mining activities in the Kuskokwim watershed. Everyone is invited to answer these information requests in a respectful manner. Because of the strong reactions -for and against- that mining activities generate in the people from the region -and out of the region- this forum will be moderated.

Traditional Ecological Knowledge: This is an open forum and it seeks to be the first step to help the wisdom of Indigenous Knowledge from the Kuskokwim spread its voice through the watershed Council, and using a means of communication that, far from being as effective as oral tradition, can, at least, reach peoples who otherwise might never have a glimpse of that knowledge. Our hope with this forum is that the younger generations can see and admire the great pool of knowledge that lives in their elder's experiences.
